As part of its 80th anniversary celebrations, Edgars Stores Limited (ESL) donated footwear to the Jairos Jiri Association Harare Children’s Centre, reaffirming the group’s continued commitment to supporting communities across Zimbabwe.

The donation included 275 individual shoe items for children, ladies and men. The initiative was carried out under the belief that disability does not mean inability, with ESL continuing to champion empowerment and inclusion within communities.

Speaking during the handover, ESL Public Relations Manager Fadzai Takaendesa said the donation was aimed at strengthening the long-standing relationship between ESL and Jairos Jiri Association.

“As ESL celebrates 80 years, we brought this donation as a way of reinforcing our relationship with Jairos Jiri and continuing to support the important work being done at the centre,” she said.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Jairos Jiri Association, National Executive Director representative Mr Makudza expressed appreciation to ESL for its continued support over the years.

“It is not just about receiving shoes, but about receiving love. ESL has walked with us for years and has become part of our story woven together, lighting lamps in places the world often overlooks. These are not just material items, but confidence, love and hope for every child who will wear them,” he said.

The donation forms part of ESL’s ongoing commitment to uplifting communities and creating meaningful impact beyond business.
