Edgars Q1 2024 Trading Update
December 20, 2018
We wish if we could go back to the simplicity of Christmas days in the 1980s. When cassettes were still a thing and rice, chicken, coke as well as moving around the neighbourhood donning your new clothes were the true definition of Christmas. In the run-up to Christmas, every year without fail, as children we would talk about our Christmas clothes –this was the only bonafide time to show off strutting our stuff in the spirit of Christmas. Life before the internet seems so ancient doesn’t it? The pre-Christmas shopping trips were sacred. The magic moment was when our parents uttered the life changing words “Hendei kutown tinotenga hembe”, “Sambeni siyethenga impahla”, ask anyone, our hearts would literally skip beats.
Buying new clothes was never an excuse to spend more during the festive season. This was part of the Christmas tradition.
In our nostalgic mode, the Edgars Team decided to celebrate Christmas early with over 150 children from Beitbridge district. The children from Cithulipasi, Matsholini, Nuli, Shabwe and Chaswingo received a clothing donation. Edgars donated clothing to over 150 children and each child received 3 (three) clothing items specifically packed for them.
The initiative touched a special place in our hearts and we wanted to make sure we make Christmas special for these children- the same way it is etched in our minds. The best way we can celebrate the true spirit of Christmas is by lending a helping hand to the less fortunate.
As a brand we believe holiday season also means giving back. Giving back to those who are less fortunate, to those who cannot give, to those for whom the past year has not been kind, to those who are underprivileged. We will continue to look for ways to improve the lives of the less fortunate.
Thank you our valued customers for your continued support for the Club Magazine. We are because you are. To a joyful present and a well-remembered past. Best wishes for Happy Holidays and a magnificent New Year.
